The concept has evolved further to foster the growing music community, welcoming record label Umami Records and creative residency space Beep Loft.
The driving force behind Beep’s existence is always to support the artistic endeavour at every stage, from inspiration to release. At our unapologetic beating heart, will always lie a love for music.

The sound engineeress of the team, Joanna graduated from the National University of Singapore with a double degree in Communications & New Media and Business. After a few years of juggling between musical endeavours and a corporate career, she chose to leave her former profession behind and heed the call of her love for music. Joanna first ventured into music at the age of 3 with classical piano training. This formed the foundation for her musical pursuits in the years that followed, as she later picked up the acoustic guitar and developed a keen interest in voice. The latter propelled her into the a cappella scene, where she arranged for and sang with a vocal group that eventually clinched the winning title at the National A Cappella Championships 2009. She also served as keyboardist for several bands locally and in Japan, where she studied liberal arts at Waseda University. Presently, she fronts a Japanese rock band as the lead vocalist along with her trusty keytar. Her foray into sound and music production began in 2015, birthed from a passion to journey with musicians in creating good music. Upon completing music production courses with Beep Studios, she now serves as part of the team and has worked on a variety of scoring and recording projects, most recently with songwriting duo Earnest and Ming Li. She also assists in vocals coaching and sound engineering at Awaken Generation, a music mentorship school.
